Spring break is pretty much over. We didn't do a whole lot with it this year, since we're saving up for the big trip to Virginia Beach later this year. Beth was trying pretty hard to find things to do with all 3 now kids during the week while I was at work, but there isn't that much to do around here. They went to Pottery Bayou early in the week: Alex made an Avengers box of some sort, Missy made a unicorn, Natalie made a princess bank, and Beth made a creamer to go with the sugar bowl she made a while back. Tuesday, all of our new appliances got installed. For the rest of the week there wasn't much going on, no FCC Kids since it was spring break, the big thing was errands during the week. But, on Friday we went to Chicago again! That's a spring break tradition, I guess. I took Friday off and we headed out in late morning, arriving at the aquarium by around noon (we purposefully did NOT eat at the aquarium cafe this time...McDonald's near Lake Shore Drive instead) and pretty much walked on in since we had bought tickets online in advance. We spent the entire afternoon at Shedd, saw the 4-D movie about coastal predators (the gannet is my new favorite bird), then headed to the mall for dinner at Cheesecake Factory (we were too full for cheesecake at the end) and some shopping, then to the hotel and the pool for the evening. Saturday we went shopping at IKEA for the morning and then the long long long drive back to the city to hit the planetarium. Again, nice to skip the lines with the advance tickets. It was pretty cool and not at all like I remember, but closed early at 5. We tried to go up the Willis Tower since it was so clear but there was a 2 1/2 hour wait just to get tickets. No advance tickets this time. We didn't want to wait that long so we headed home and will save it for next time.
