It’s been an odd weekend. Alex’s birthday was Saturday, so Friday he had a bunch of his friends come over for a sleepover party. Beth and I weren’t keen on having Natalie in the house with 7 13-year-old boys so Beth took Missy and Natalie to a motel overnight. They did some shopping and hit to pool, while I stayed home with the boys and ordered Jimmy John’s and let them play their video games (I did some cleaning up, laundry, dishes, and stayed out of the way). There was a band concert of some sort too, so Luke and Timmy didn’t arrive until 11:00 or so, and I let them stay up for about another 2 hours until making them turn the lights out. They were up fairly early again in the morning playing games until 11:00 when we finally got rid of the last of them. Anyway, the girls hadn’t slept very well either, so everyone was pretty tired all day Saturday and still on Sunday morning, so everyone except me (I had to pick up Ed for church) skipped church. Later on in the day we took all the kids to see “Zootopia,” which is an absolute masterpiece. Best animated movie to come out in a while.
Earlier this week (Tuesday) was the make-up for the church league softball coaches meeting. Gotta get the sign-up sheet out. Look like there won't be many new changes for this year, which is fine with me. I just want to play.
