Today was the bunny day. Against my better judgement, perhaps, Beth and I told Missy that she could have a rabbit. We told her this sometime last year, saying after spring break we would get her a rabbit. So, I've been spending spare time during the winter building a hutch for bunny. It's fairly nice if I do say so myself; it has two stories with a gangplank of sorts that raises and lowers so bunny can go up and down between levels, it has a separate room without any exterior openings so bunny can have some privacy, and it has a sloped roof to keep the rain off. And the front wall is hinged, and opens up both the living room and the bedroom so we can easily fed bunny or get bunny out if we need to. I just built it out of stuff from Menard's, don't know if I saved money by building it myself or not. Anyway, we drove down to Wabash today, since we had heard that there was a gigantic pet store there that was great for this sort of thing. Missy found a cute little all-black bunny that she named Nibbles and we took home. Bunny is a timid little rabbit. She struggled when being held and Missy was a bit scared to hold her anyway, so she got to have some alone time in the hutch early on. Iris was also very curious, and came by the hutch to check her out. Or him, we don't know.
