The roof work is in full swing now....we weren't planning on getting a new roof, but we are....The old siding being stripped off the walls of the house helped reveal the fact that we need a new roof, mostly by showing that the roof was never properly sealed where the living room roof meets the upper level exterior wall. Well, we knew we'd need a new roof sooner or later, so when our contractor offered us a good deal, we took it and figured we'll figure out how to pay for it later....anyway, tonight when I got home from work I got right back to work on the roof, helping haul off the roofing debris and chucking it into the lugger below. And by the way, there were actually two roofs up there because when it was shingled last, they just put the new ones right on top of the old ones. Which made the work of ripping the roof off that much more. So I hauled and threw and hauled and threw and hauled and threw and hauled and threw and I am now sore. But the roof is off. The urgency that made me jump in there was that they needed to get the roof at least waterproof by dusk so they weren't working in the dark, and so the forecasted rain didn't soak the entire house. And they did it, they got all the new felt on the roof before the inevitable rain started.
