Missy's birthday has been going on for several days now, and finally it's about over. Everything else has been going on now, too. Last weekend, Saturday, Laura and Thomas came over from out East to visit with Missy. While they were traveling, we held Missy's birthday party. She decided a while back that she would like to have a teddy bear tea party, whatever that means, so we gave that a go. We had about 9 little girls come over, bringing their favorite stuffed animal and dress-up clothes, and we had them make fancy hats out of paper plates and plastic flowers and bling, blow bubbles all over the backyard, play a skittles shooting game, musical chairs, and eat cake and ice cream. So that's what a teddy bear tea party is. After the party we thought we'd have enough time to visit Clayson's grad party before Laura and Thomas got here, but we were wrong. They beat us to our house by a few minutes. It was date night, so we got Erika and all went out to dinner at the boathouse and got Courthouse coffee afterwards. Thomas had to leave early in the morning to pick up Ben and head back to Ohio for an interview Sunday so that was about the last we saw of him, but Laura was staying on for a few more days. Sunday we all went to Pottery Bayou to paint pottery and dinner at Golden Corral (Missy got to choose anywhere she wanted). For the next few days, every night was movie night at our house because Auntie Laura had never seen "How to Train Your Dragon" or "Tangled" or "Megamind." Wednesday, Missy's actual birthday, Laura left in the morning (Beth took her to South Bend where she caught a Greyhound). That was also the day of Missy's real party, since neither Wrigley nor Rebecca could make it to the teddy bear tea party. Those two came over Wednesday evening, for dinner (pizza) and a sleepover. But first we took them to Somethin' Funn and Dairy Queen as well, and after their movie they got to bed (girls sleeping in the guest room downstairs) at around 10. Tennis was the next morning (today) so the girls went with Missy.
