Tonight was the first Komets scout night our pack has been to! What a great time. The Komets wound up losing to the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs (I had no idea they played hockey in Louisiana) in a shootout 3-2, but it was a fun evening. We had a decent turnout for an event like this, with around 4 or 5 families represented. There was a decent fight in the 2nd period too, and I'm afraid some of the adult leadership (me) didn't use it as a teachable moment. When the two guys started locking up and throwing punches we started cheering, and when Shrock knocked the other guy over backwards we cheered even louder. We should have taught the kids that fighting is wrong and to never use violence to solve a dispute. But it was more fun to cheer on the fight.
