Ah, the first week home after vacation. So much to adjust to all over again. I've been crazy busy at work, and the kids schedules are all out of whack so they're grumpy. Alex has also had Pirate Camp at Presby this week, arrr. We've also sold the train table that we didn't manage to sell in the garage sale. I put an ad on Craig's List the weekend after we got back, and we had it sold in a couple days for $50. Alex was very pragmatic about it going away. He cried at first, but by the time the people came to pick it up he was happy to help them carry it out to their truck and make sure they had all the pieces. A couple days ago Gary was out of town so we had Renee and the kids over for dinner...Jake was pretty disappopinted the train set was gone. This week I also got the van in for service to fix the horrible shaking it's been doing whenever you put the brakes on (on vacation last week, it was terrible through the mountains) and the engine racing whenever you shift to park. Of course, they found about $1800 worth of things that should be done, but I had them fix the throttle position sensor and the front rotors for $355 for now. We all went geocahing yesterday, but it was really too hot to go very long. And also, we went to see "The Dark Knight" last weekend, awesome. This weekend we also went to see the new "X-Files" movie with the Johnsons and Wilhites. We all thought it was good; I thought it was like an extended episode of the show. Nothing wrong with it. Not exactly spectacular either, but good.
This week at work we also had an offsite to talk about the project I've been working with for 2-odd years now, and we all wonder if it's going anywhere. We needed to talk about where we are, where we've been, and where we're going. We held it at the Z Hotel, and during that time I got a parking ticket. Didn't realize there was a 2-hour parking limit. Dirk got one too.
