I'm working on winterizing the camper this weekend. We've only camped in it once; I'm so disgusted with us. It's been sitting on the curb in front of the house since June, unused. We've promised ourselves to camp more next year. Today was also bowling. And I reached a milestone I had thought I might never reach...a 200 game. I was pretty good the first game (141), on fire for the second game (171) and unconscious for the third (211). My best series ever. Even the 171 is in my top 5 games ever.

Today Beth and I worked in the yard for essentially the first time since she got that awful poison ivy last summer. There had been a big pile of small stones on a tarp in the patch of lawn where the big stump was since July; we finally got them all moved to where they are supposed to be. They seem to be a much smaller pile when they're supposed to cover strip along the entire length of the wall. I also dug up the tomatoes (it was a good year...no deer) and got rid of the ridiculous deer shield that was covering them. Movie night tonight was "Daddy Day Care" which was, I thought, very funny. A very good rent.

The World Series looked so promising a week or so ago...Cubs-Red Sox could have been one of the best ever...now we've got the series nobody cares about. I'm not even going to watch it.

Everyone else gets Columbus Day off...not me. Anyway, we spent the weekend in Michigan. Beth's sister was home from Alabama and having a birthday party at her brother's house. Our niece Amy was also in town with her daughter, whom we had never met (she's about 11 months old). Ric took some pictures of all the kids while we were there. It seemed strange that Alex was in the picture with the other grandchildren, who are all in their late 20's, and not with the great-grandchildren, who are more his age. We stayed in a Motel 6 (cheep!) Saturday night because Beth can not sleep on her mother's sofa sleeper anymore (it's the worst sleeper ever made). Ted had room for us but we didn't know until too late. Friday night was date night here; we left Alex at the church and went to dinner, but there wasn't a movie playing that we wanted to see so we picked him up early. We are so lame, all we did after dinner was go to Big Lots and Wal-Mart.

If the weather is changing (and it is), that means I'm getting sick. I left work at 2 today not feeling well. I just hope Alex doesn't catch it from me this time. He's still teething (got 6 teeth now) so there's a lot of snot as it is. I think this is going to be a homebound weekend.
